Jennine Capó Crucet is cool. We met in November at the Miami Book Fair, and she couldn't have been any nicer. I could have sat down with her and discussed books for hours. It turns out that we like a lot of the same writers. And, I really enjoyed her debut novel, Make Your Home Among Strangers.
The Miami native is the also author of the award-winning short story collection How to Leave Hialeah. She has a bachelor's degree from Cornell University in English and an MFA in creative writing from the University of Minnesota.
In this week's ReadMore podcast, we talk about Make Your Home Among Strangers, microaggressions, the book that made her think she could be a writer and her "freak out" over finding just the right title for her novel.
