Episode 32 --- Glory Edim

I was first introduced to Glory Edim, the amazing young woman behind the Well-Read Black Girl book club, through Twitter. She often tweeted inspiring quotes by some of my favorite authors. I immediately started following her and quickly realized she was the real deal.
Her book club became a book festival and then an anthology, Well-Read Black Girl: Finding Our Stories, Discovering Ourselves, which was published this fall. Glory edited the collection of essays with a diverse group of Black women writers, including Tayari Jones, Jesmyn Ward and Jacqueline Woodson. Each author was asked to write about when they first felt seen in literature.
Reading these incredible writers talking about the books that shaped them was a real treat. The anthology also introduced me to some new authors I can't wait to read.
If you love books, you must read this anthology. Whether you consider yourself a well-read black girl or not, this book is an incredible resource for anyone looking to add to their TBR list.
